Caoimhe Reid studied Natural Sciences in Trinity College, Dublin, specialising in Immunology. Moving to Cambridge, UK in 2017 she began working for Horizon Discovery, a biotech company specialising in gene editing and cell line engineering. She worked on the Custom Project team manufacturing customised reference standards for research use, and the BioProduction team working on the characterisation of their Chinese Hamster Ovary Cell lines. In 2018 Caoimhe returned to Ireland to work for Pfizer Grange Castle, one of the largest integrated biotechnology plants in the world. As part of the Technical Services team, she works to support the introduction of new products into the Drug Substance facility, for the manufacture and global supply of Pfizer Drug Product. Whilst she is passionate about her work, she also enjoys music, spending time with family, friends, and taking part in outdoor activities.
