Ipshita came up with the idea behind GapSummit and registered it as Global Biotech Revolution in February 2012. She was President of GBR until June 2017 and remains a Director, currently focusing on long-term strategy for the organisation.
She is currently a management consultant with McKinsey and Company, working on pharma and healthcare strategy and organisational transformation. She was previously CBO at Nanna Therapeutics for three years. Nanna Therapeutics develops breakthrough medicines for the treatment of diseases that involve defects in mitochondrial function as well as diseases of the central nervous system such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and ALS.
She has over 10 years’ experience in healthcare and technology in multiple geographies and organisations. She has published in The Economist and Nature Biotechnology Digital. She also has research publications and a patent in DNA chemistry, microfluidics and biomanufacturing. She was selected as a Leader of Tomorrow at the 43rd St Gallen Symposium and also twice named one of 50 Movers and Shakers in BioBusiness in UK.
Ipshita completed her PhD in Chemical Engineering in polymer science and bio-pharma applications from University of Cambridge. She also holds a BTech in biotechnology from the University of Auckland and National University of Singapore.
